Authenticating vintage goods is both a careful process and an art — and at Marcy Vintage, we take this responsibility seriously. Our goal is always to provide the most honest, informed, and transparent assessment possible for every piece we offer.
Whenever we acquire vintage items, we ask sellers to provide supporting documentation where available, such as certificates of authenticity, serial numbers, or original invoices. Each piece is carefully examined for recognizable labels, logos, branding details, and construction features. For high-value or rare items, we consult specialists and experts in the field.
We also make use of reliable online resources and modern tools, including AI-based image recognition, to assist with verification. Provenance is an important part of our process: we work only with trusted sellers and verify the history and origin of items whenever possible. In addition, every piece is inspected for alterations, restorations, or damage that could impact its authenticity or value.
Most importantly, Marzieh’s many years of experience are at the heart of our authentication process. Her trained eye for craftsmanship, quality of materials, stitching, finishing details, and natural aging allows us to identify genuine vintage pieces with confidence.
While authentication can never be guaranteed with absolute certainty, we are fully transparent about our methods and stand behind every item we sell.
